Christoph Fulterer, the fourth generation of hosts, and his mother Edith shape the house in the spirit of Otto-Heinz Fulterer.

The Schäfle has been in Altenstadt since 1889.
It was built as the “Zum Lamm” inn by Josefa and Franz Anton Fulterer, who came from South Tyrol. In 1930, the siblings Antonia and Josef Fulterer took over the
, which was renamed “Schäfle” around 1920. In 1976, the middle son, Otto-Heinz Fulterer, took over and developed the country inn with guest rooms into a nationally renowned place for culinary delights and hospitality. After the early death of Otto-Heinz in 2009, his wife Edith ran the business alone for a few years until their son Christoph joined his parents’ business in 2013 and is now the fourth generation to run it. Come as a guest and leave as a friend.
