at the Hotel Schäfle in Feldkirch-Altenstadt
Our vineyard on the Ardetzenberg has been in the family for generations.
Hotel Schäfle in Feldkirch is therefore the only inn in Vorarlberg to also have a winery. We are proud of our home-pressed wines, which are stored directly below you in the cellar. Be it the dry Rivaner or the fruity Blauer Burgunder. Vorarlberg wines have their own exciting characteristics. Of course, we also offer our “Signature Wines” by the glass to get to know them. And if you like the wines, you can also order them by phone or e-mail.
Wine is particularly close to our hearts, so in addition to our own wines, we have bouquets from our favorite winegrowers from Austria and neighboring countries in our cellar for you.
Beer was brewed in the deep and cool cellar vaults until before the First World War. Today, the three basement floors fulfill a different purpose. A large selection of mainly Austrian wines is stored in the wine cellar and the “Ardetzenberger” matures in large barrels one floor below before being bottled.
The main building was renovated, converted and extended at regular intervals. In addition, in 1991 the former The shed on the opposite side of the parking lot, which was used as a horse stable and storage room, was replaced with a modern outbuilding with guest rooms. The guest garden, at the back of the inn, in a quiet location, is a haven of comfort. Characterized by a rammed earth wall and several plane trees, it is a favourite summer spot for many.
